About Us
De-Arts Place is a proud subsidiary of Softmak Ventures Limited, established in 1993 with a vision rooted in creativity, culture, and purpose. Guided by the passion and leadership of Sola Olamakinde—a self-taught artist, curator, and art entrepreneur—De-Arts Place has grown from humble beginnings into a thriving hub for artistic excellence and cultural enrichment.
Our mission is clear and deeply inspired by our love for the arts:
To celebrate creativity, aesthetic value, and the richness of our cultural heritage.
To discover, nurture, and strategically develop artistic talent.
To promote professionalism by providing platforms—such as exhibitions, seminars, and workshops—that empower both emerging and established artists to create sustainable wealth through their craft.
Over the years, De-Arts Place has curated numerous group and solo exhibitions across Nigeria and beyond, impacting private collectors, corporate organizations, and public institutions alike. Our work continues to add value to diverse art audiences, enhancing spaces both within and outside the country.
Driven by our vision to nurture potential, we established the “Heart for Arts” program in 2009—a creative empowerment initiative designed for children, youth, women, and retirees. Through this program, we promote artistic skills, self-expression, and productivity. Our gallery also welcomes schools and students for research, art appreciation, and educational excursions, ensuring that the next generation connects meaningfully with the world of art.
At De-Arts Place, we are more than a gallery—we are a community where art, passion, and purpose meet.
